Cartography Mannequin

The making of a 'world map mannequin' for display for the Further Education Open Day at Bishop Burton College 2013.

 Pleated neckline and epaulettes
Blue hydrangea petals are added to the bodice

Pink peonies and vibrant gerberas are inserted into water filled testubes broken up by curly talansia

Craspedia and ornamental stachys leaves are placed on the shoulders

I have a small obsession with peonies!

Yellow chrysanthemum heads are dotted willy nilly throughout the mannequin

Hey presto a kind of satnav in a frock!!

Jazzy Jars

Jazz up used jars with a funky jacket covering and adorn with your favourite seasonal flowers. Here I used delicate pink calla lillies, singapore orchids and craspedia.

Place funky beads on bullion wire and wrap around the bottle neck.

Glue on cute buttons.

Post Create Arrangement

Cover plastic test tubes with wool, throw in buttons and beads........

add a few small horizontal sticks at the base.....

and finally a selection of fresh flowers.  Reuse base and replace fresh flowers.

Paper Wreath

Wreath base created from the leafs of a tired old book with whites, cream and green flower materials.  The coned   pages  give a cosy vintage appearance while the dry wheat  gives an impression of harvest, suggesting  spring time  making it a suitable decoration  for hanging or centrepiece.

Spectacular fresh colour

Scattered clusters of hypericum and brunia

Fun to make and the perfect gift!
